Frequently asked questions
Installation, licensing, data security, teamwork, planning and reporting — answered in one place.
General 03
What is MPI · Project Management?
It is project management software built for mining and process-plant projects. Work breakdown, a Gantt chart with dependencies, country working calendars, progress tracking with dated approvals, the S-curve and management-ready PDF / Excel reports come together in one program.
Which projects is it suited to?
Mine development studies (from scoping to feasibility), open-pit start-up, drilling campaigns, permitting and licensing, process-plant investments and maintenance shutdowns. The program comes with 17 ready templates for this work; you can also start from an empty project.
Which languages does the program support?
The interface and reports are in Turkish and English; the language changes with one click. Task and project names entered in Turkish are translated on your computer when you switch to English; no text is sent to a server for this. English names you type yourself are never changed.
Installation and requirements 05
What are the system requirements?
Windows 10 or Windows 11 (64-bit). The program is installed for your Windows user only; no administrator rights are needed. The licence check needs an internet connection at least once every 7 days. In MPI Cloud workspaces a connection is needed for changes to reach the team; work continues when the connection drops.
How do I download the setup file?
Enter your full name, work e-mail and company on the download page. After you verify the 6-digit code sent to your e-mail, the setup file and the user guides can be downloaded. The code is valid for 15 minutes and the download link for 24 hours.
Why does “Windows protected your PC” appear during installation?
Windows SmartScreen shows this message for applications that do not yet have a wide download history. If you got the setup file from the mpisuite.com download page, choose More info and then Run anyway.
How is the program updated?
Shortly after it starts, and every six hours while it is open, the program checks for a new version and downloads it in the background. Choose Open the new version to switch now, or it starts with the new version next time. Updates are digitally signed; the program only installs a version whose signature is verified. Your data is not affected.
If I uninstall the program, is my data deleted?
No. Uninstalling the program does not delete workspace data; data in MPI Cloud workspaces stays on the server.
Account and licence 06
Is there a trial?
Yes. Every new account starts with a 14-day trial. Once a licence is assigned, the program continues with the same account and the same data.
How do I get a licence?
Licences are assigned per user. Send a licence request for your team through the contact form with the subject “Licence request”. Once the licence is assigned, choose Check again in the program.
How do I create an account?
Choose Create account on the program’s sign-in screen, or activate your account with the link in the invitation e-mail you received. You can also sign in with a Google account that uses the same e-mail address.
A code appeared in the browser when I signed in with Google. What should I do?
In the browser version, or in a program installed before 15 October 2026, an 8-character code appears in the browser when Google sign-in finishes; type it into the box in the program. The code confirms that the sign-in started on your computer. A program installed from the site’s setup file from 15 October 2026 onwards needs no code.
I forgot my password. What should I do?
Choose Forgot password? on the sign-in screen; a password reset link is sent to your e-mail.
How long can I work without the internet?
The licence works offline for 7 days. Connecting to the internet once before that period ends is enough.
Data and security 05
Where is my data stored?
Unless you choose MPI Cloud, the data stays on your computer (Documents › MPI Workspaces). In MPI Cloud workspaces the data is stored encrypted on the server in Türkiye. The licence service and account data are also hosted in Türkiye.
How is my personal data processed?
Personal data is processed under the Turkish Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 (KVKK). Which data is processed, for what purpose and for how long it is kept is set out in the Privacy Notice.
Is my data backed up?
In MPI Cloud workspaces the server takes a version backup at the first change of every hour: every backup of the last 48 hours and one per day for up to 30 days are kept, and the workspace administrator can restore a version. In addition, every action in the program can be undone and deleted tasks can be restored from the trash.
How do I control who can change what?
There are five roles: Administrator, Project manager, Editor, Contributor and Viewer. Additional permissions can be granted per space, folder, project or department. The change log records who changed what and when, with the old and new value.
What happens if the internet connection drops?
Work does not stop. Changes wait on your computer and are sent automatically when the connection returns. The save state is always shown in the top bar.
Working as a team 05
How do I work on the same project with my team?
Move the workspace to MPI Cloud and invite your colleagues by e-mail. The invited person signs in with their own account and accepts the invitation; everyone works on the same data and one person’s change reaches the others within seconds.
What happens to my own projects when I join a team?
Your own projects stay as they are. In the desktop program the team’s workspace is added as a separate workspace (“MPI Cloud” in the list); switch between them with ⋯ next to the workspace name in the sidebar. In the browser version you are first asked to download a backup of your current data, and the team workspace opens after you confirm. If your own projects disappeared when you joined with an earlier version, the steps under “I joined a team and my own projects are gone” in the F1 help bring them back.
What happens if two people change the same task at the same time?
The changes are merged. If two people changed the same field differently, the latest change applies.
I did not receive the invitation e-mail. What should I do?
First check the spam folder. You must sign in with the e-mail address the invitation was sent to; the invitation appears only for that account. If needed, the workspace administrator can send the invitation again.
Where are the steps for joining a team described?
The “Joining the team” document on the download page (Turkish and English, one page) describes every step from installation to accepting the invitation.
Planning and reporting 05
How is progress calculated?
Each task’s progress is calculated from the dated approvals of its weighted checklist items and rolls up from task to project and from project to space. Plan percentage is measured against the baseline; schedule performance (SPI) and delay are shown in working days.
Are public holidays taken into account?
Yes. Each space is scheduled on its own country working calendar. Public holiday catalogues for Uzbekistan, Türkiye, the United States and Saudi Arabia are built in; company holidays can be added.
Which dependency types are available?
Finish-to-start (FS), start-to-start (SS) and finish-to-finish (FF) links can be used with lag. When a task slips, its successors move only if a link is violated; the remaining float is shown on every task in working days.
Which reports can I produce?
A management-ready PDF progress report (Turkish or English) and a formula-driven Excel workbook. In Excel, percentages, schedule state and chart tables update by themselves when the status date, approvals or holidays change.
Can I bring in my existing task list?
Yes. Copy the list from Excel or Word and paste it into the task entry row: indentation and numbers such as 1.1 / 1.2 become subtasks (up to 500 lines at a time). An Excel file exported from the program can also be edited and imported back; rows added in Excel come in as new tasks, subtasks or checklist items.

How do I get help inside the program?
The F1 key opens the help centre, which explains every screen in Turkish and English. Use Ctrl+K to search everything.
